Blake Matthews currently works, serves, ministers, teaches, drinks coffee, eats (occasionally), spends time with family, and has a blast doing it all at Westminster Academy, where his business card title is Director of Marketing and Communications.
Prior to joining the Westminster Academy family in the summer of 2007, Blake designed and developed websites at PaperStreet, a Fort Lauderdale Web design firm specializing in websites for the legal field. Before that, he was an Art Director for more than a decade years at Daniels & Roberts, an advertising agency in Boca Raton, where he led the agency’s interactive and Internet-related endeavors as well as print design.
Blake has had the opportunity to work with some great people on some great accounts, such as Beckman Coulter, Citrix Systems, Dole Foods, The Fontaine Bleau, First Priority of South Florida, IBM, IPC (Subway), KFC, Kolter Communities, Microsoft, Moss Construction Management, Polaroid, Porcelanosa, Pratt & Whitney, Sensormatic, SyQuest, Church by the Glades, and many others.
His work has been featured on numerous award and showcase sites, including Church Beauty, The Daily Slurp, Design Meltdown, Pro Web Art, Screenalicious, and Smashing Magazine.
Blake holds a degree in Advertising Design, from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, where he also received Best Portfolio, Highest Achievement, and the Outstanding Academic Achievement Awards.
He has been a member of the Creative Latitude, Electronic Design Association, and Graphic Artist’s Guild, as well as an alumnus of, and mentor in the Enterprise Ambassador Program, a program founded by the late R. David Thomas of Wendy’s International for the purpose of educating high school students about the American free enterprise system.
